Monarch Place is a landmark mixed-use tower forming part of Azzura’s broader masterplanned redevelopment on the edge of the Gold Coast CBD. The 30-storey building will deliver 237 residential apartments alongside 63 hotel rooms, expanding on the success of the adjacent Regal Residences and TRYP by Wyndham Southport. The development also incorporates a strong commercial and retail component at podium level, including 23 premium medical suites and a retail strip designed to activate the prominent Meron Street and Ferry Road intersection and contribute to the evolving Southport urban centre.

The structural design responds to the scale and complexity of a multi-use high-rise building, integrating residential, hotel and commercial functions within a single vertical structure. A reinforced concrete core and frame system provides the primary structural support and lateral stability for the tower, while podium levels accommodate retail, medical suites and extensive resident amenities. Significant coordination has been required to resolve transfer structures, service integration and efficient floorplate planning to support the varied uses within the building while maintaining construction efficiency.

A key feature of the development is the expansive level-six amenity deck, anchored by a large lagoon-style pool and a suite of wellness and communal facilities. The structural solution has been carefully coordinated to support these large open-span amenity areas and landscaped zones, ensuring long-term performance and durability while delivering the architectural vision for a resort-style residential environment.

Monarch Place contributes to the ongoing transformation of Southport into a high-density mixed-use precinct. The structural design underpins a significant addition to the skyline, providing a robust and efficient framework that supports the project’s residential, hotel and commercial components while responding to the demands of a prominent CBD-edge location.
