The Pallara P–1 campus forms part of the expansion of educational infrastructure within Brisbane’s rapidly growing south-west corridor, delivering a purpose-built early years precinct designed to operate as a self-sufficient small school. The project includes a new two-storey learning centre accommodating 20 classrooms, flexible learning spaces and student amenities, alongside a suite of supporting buildings including administration, tuckshop, amenities and facilities buildings. The development also incorporates new covered outdoor learning and play areas, refurbishment of existing campus buildings and delivery of new external works including sports and recreation facilities.

The structural design supports a contemporary education environment focused on flexibility, durability and long-term performance. The primary learning centre has been designed to accommodate adaptable teaching spaces and generous circulation areas, with structural systems coordinated to allow open learning environments while maintaining cost-effective and buildable construction. Covered outdoor areas and playground structures required careful integration of lightweight and steel-framed elements to provide shaded play and gathering spaces suited to the Queensland climate.

Refurbishment works to the existing Resource Centre and multi-purpose hall required detailed assessment and coordination to integrate new structural elements with the existing buildings while maintaining campus operations throughout construction. External works, including the delivery of a new sports field and covered seating areas, were designed to support active outdoor learning and community use.

The completed campus provides a cohesive and future-ready learning environment that responds to the needs of early years education while supporting the broader growth of the Pallara community. The structural solution delivers robust, efficient and adaptable buildings that align with Department of Education standards and provide a durable framework for long-term educational use.
